Historical Note:   Going back in time to 2012-13 this unit was Emma's Bistro & Grill, (still on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/emmasbistro?fref=ts) featuring:   Italian, Mediterranean, American food.

Then of course it was Sam and Mike running Pizza 'N Beyond in 2013-14. (Facebook at:

The problem the 4 closed restaurants had is the same as what Vida will face - This is a poor location for ANYrestaurant.  It is to far back from Cobb Pky, you don't see it until you have gone past and access from Cobb is hard as those going north have to go another 2 blocks to make a U-turn to go back.  (Vida on Facebook at:  https://www.facebook.com/VidaCaribbeanGrill?ref=profile)

Misc:  It seems that the history of the rental space has had 5 restaurants there.  Another one I found was a listing for:  R J'S CAFE, 2655 COBB PARKWAY NORTH NW, KENNESAW, GA 30152, (770) 919-1949, probably the first and Patel family owned, it is now long gone.

Also the Patel family (MADHAV INVESTMENT CORPORATION) owes the County a tax bill of $25,134.36 on the $1,600,000 property.

Going back even further in time:

The Windsor Motel in Kennesaw was built by William and Maureen Powell circa 1952. Maureen was originally from England and she gave the hotel its name.

In 1978 C.N. Patel and his wife moved to Kennesaw from London. They purchased the motel from the Powell’s on January 30, 1979.

The Patel’s son, R.J. and his wife Asha took over the day to day operation of the motel in 1994. After 11 years of round the clock managing the business they closed the Windsor Motel on November 23, 2005.

The Patels demolished the motel and during a clean-up of the property they discovered one of the old motel signs they believe may be from the early 1960’s (see pictures with this post).

A shopping center known as The Windsor, managed by the Patels, was opened in the same location in 2008.

{Thank you to R.J. Patel for this brief history of the motel. Postcards courtesy of R.J. Patel and Andrew Bramlett}
